A&P Anterior Rami of the Spinal Nerves
Ulnar nerve
Brachial Plexus C5-T1. "Funny bone nerve" superficial on elbow. Supply certain muscles of forearm, flex hand, most intristic muscles of the hand, skin over median hand.
Radial nerve
Brachial Plexus C5-T1. Serves muscles that extend the forearm and hand, skin in the lateral hand
Median nerve
Brachial Plexus C5-T1. Supply the most muscles of forearm that flex the hand. Skin anterior and lateral hand, flexor retinaculum (wrist, carpals)
Cranial nerves
Bring information to and from the brain and brainstem, 12 pairs
Phrinic nerve
Cervical Plexus C3 - C5. Serves the diaphragm
Spinal nerves
Each of the 31 pairs of spinal nerves forms from the fusion of the anterior and posterior roots of the sinal cord. Bring the information to and from Spinal nerves. Anterior roots carry motor axons from the spinal cord. Posterior roots carry sensory axons to the spinal cord. Each nerve both motor and sensory - mixed.
Femoral nerve ---> Saphenous nerve
Lumbar plexus L1-L4. Branch of femoral nerve which supplies knee joint, medial leg, and foot.
Femoral nerve
Lumbar plexus L1-L4. Largest, provides motor innervation to most of the anterior thigh muscles that extand knee, and sensory innervation to the skin anterior and medial thigh.
Obturator nerve
Lumbar plexus L1-L4. Supplies medial thigh muscles and skin on the proximal, medial thigh.
Common Fibular Nerve
Sacral Plexus L4-S4. Common Fibular nerve divides into superficial, which provides innervation to the lateral leg; and deep branches - which supplies anterior muscles of the leg that dorsiflex the foot, and the intrinsic muscles of the foot.
Tibial nerve
Sacral Plexus L4-S4. Sciatic nerve divides into Tibial nerve and Common Fibular. Tibial nerve serves the posterior tigh, posterior leg and foot.
