melting point/freezing point
The melting point is the temperature at witch a substance changes from the solid phase to the liquid phase. The melting point and freezing point are the same, as the freezing point is the temperature at witch a substance changes from a liquid to a solid.
temperature
Temperature is a measure of the average kinetic energy of molecules.
Celsius scale
The Celsius scale is the metric temperature scale on witch water freezes at 0 degrees Celsius and boils at 100 degrees Celsius.
boiling point
The boiling point is the temperature at witch a substance changes from the liquid phase to the gas phase. The boiling point of water at sea level is 100 degrees C.
Fahrenheit scale
The fahrenheit scale is the scale in witch the temperature difference between the melting and boiling point of water is divided into 180 equal intervals called degrees. The freezing point is taken as 32 degrees F and the boiling point as 212 degrees F.
