tell me about yourself

-graduated tulane in may with double majors in marketing in management -moved to nyc right after graduation, currently working as a global sponsorship intern at sap -i have a wide range of tasks and responsibities, but the main focus of my job is planning and hosting customer events -i coordinate with the sales teams to learn about customers that are attending and what their priorities are, to strategically utilize our contractural assets to deliver superior and personalized customer experiences -this has given me relevant customer-facing experience, and my ultimate goal is to move into a role in sales preferably in the software industry

how do you deal with a difficult person/customer

-hosting customer events, i have had to deal with a number of difficult people, sales people, and customers. i try to remain as level headed as necessary, collect all the information i can on the current situation, and strategize a way to de-escalate the situation to the bets of my abilities. -while i am a people pleaser, and i always want to solve problems, but i am not always able to offer the desired solution due to the scope of my role, so i do the best i can and have to set boundaries at times to respect my leadership team and our sponsor properties (people wanting extra gifts, underage drinking in the suite, etc.)

why do you want to work for mulesoft

-i find it interesting how mulesoft powers the salesforce integration cloud and enables companies to take a wide range of data from various sources, analyze it automatically, empowering companies to innovate faster and deliver connected customer experiences

what is your greatest weakness

-i think my greatest weakness, especially when applied to this job, is my lack of direct sales experience. -i know that the job description is looking for candidates with 1-3 years of direct selling experience, and while i have customer-facing experience, i know that i am lacking -however, i am extremely motivated, ready to learn and work hard, and i am very coachable. i think that even with lacking direct customer experience, i will be able to prove myself a valuable asset to the team

why do you want to work for salesforce

-ive always been interested in technology and software -growing up, both of my parents worked for software sales, and through my courses in school i developed a real interest in b2b software companies especially-- i love the aspect of businesses empowering other businesses to succeed and innovate faster -salesforce is obviously the leader in crm, and i have a huge interest in the marketing field and how companies take data across multiple touchpoints and analyze how to deliver customized customer experiences and relate to customers on a personal level -on top of all of this, i align with salesforce values, i think that it is changing the world through empowering and building businesses, and i would be proud to be a part of the team

tell me about a time you had to be a leader

-we had a group presentation this summer where we had to present in front of our whole marketing team including the CMO on a proposed sponsor property -i was working with people who were very different, and couldn't agree on certain aspects of the presentation, so i had to take initiative to break up the different slides, assign slides that i thought best aligned with people's skills and interests, and compile the presentation to finish by deadline

why do you want to leave your current job

-while i love my job, unfortunately it is not a full time position, and i am grateful for the experience it has given me (especially in customer facing roles, managing a large range of tasks/responsibilities, and exposure to the tech industry) -my experience here has enabled me to determine that i want to pursue a customer centric, sales-oriented full time role as my next position

tell me about a time you had to work as a team

i have to work across teams on a daily basis, coordinating with our global team, our regional teams, marketing leads, sales leads, our sponsor properties, agencies, and vendors. so my current role is very team-centric and i have to gather and communicate information and priorities so that we can host the best possible event while keeping all stakeholders happy

why do you want to work in sales

ive always been interested in sales, i grew up with two parents in high-tech sales, and i first started to have a growing passion for sales when i worked as a sales associate in high school. i loved receiving goals and quotas, hitting and exceeding the goals, and connecting with the customer. i used to work at sunglass hut, and the feeling of leaving the customer satisfied with a purchase combined with the satisfaction of upper management for exceeding my goals was unforgettable

tell me about a time you had success

whenever i host a successful customer event, i have a huge sense of pride and accomplishment. the work that goes in for the back-end of events is tedious, requires a lot of overlook, coordination, and organization, but when the event goes well i am extremely proud of all the work that it entailed and how it shows through
