summary: Alejandro is packing suitcase as the toldeos are going to the airport barajas. the taxi arrives and alejandro does not want to forget all of his things, memorioes and items from his adventures and takes his time. he is hurried up by his father and his siblings say it is typical for him to be late. at the airport, alejandro cannot find his passport and realizes he forgot it in his suitcase that has already been borded onto the plane.

summary: the toldeos find a guard and ask for help. they explain the situation. the guard says he can go with alejandro to retrieve the passport. Isabel and miguel go with him. Alejandro finds his suitcase in the belly of the plane after going through many hallways. when he opens his suitcase things explode everywhere. The gurad helps him. as they are walking back there are shouts from a woman screaming help. the guard quickly rushes over, leaving alejandro, isabel, and miguel. estamos perdidos ( we are lost) they cannot find their way back without the guard. Alejandro then sees the flowers he got from margarita were falling out of his pocket as he walked. he then yelled to the right! and they all ran back while following the flowers.

the toledos leave the museum of santa cruz and go to the great fortress of the alcazar. This old building is a fortress and a palace at the same time. inside there is an army museum. The Alcazar is the site of a terrible battle of the Spanish Civil War of 1936. In this battle the military on one side attacks the fortress. the military on the other side, who are inside, defend it. they fight for seventy days. finally there is no more food. Men are tired and very hungry. Many die of hunger or in battle. The leader of the defenders of Alcazar is Colonel Moscardo. His son is called Luis.
