sum
the total amount resulting from adding two or more numbers.
product
The quantity resulting from multiplying numbers together.
difference
The remainder left after subtracting one value from another.

Associative Property of Addition
The way numbers are grouped when adding does not change the sum. For example: 3 + (4 + 5) = (3 + 4) + 5
term
A term can be a number, variable, or product of numbers and variables. Each term of an algebraic expression is separated by addition or subtraction. For example: In the expression y + 8- 3x, the terms are y, 8, and -3x.
factor
One of two or more numbers that, when multiplied together, produce a given product. For example: 3, 5, and 2 are factors of 30 because 3 x 5 x 2 = 30.
