Youngstown Sheet and Tube v. Sawyer (1952)

A Supreme Court decision that arose when Harry Truman discovered that steel workers were planning a strike. He ordered the Secretary of Commerce to nationalize steel mines and have the government run them. In response, the Supreme Court ruled that this was not to be allowed, as the president could not take possession of private property.
