What is the difference between a selection Window, Crossing, and Lasso?
A Window is a solid rectangle produced by moving the mouse to the right of an imaginary line and selects only imaginary line and selects anything it touches. A Lasso can behave like either a Window or Crossing, but is a free-form shape, not limited to a rectangle/square. It is invoked via a click-and-drag technique.
