What are 5 perks that you would offer to your employees? Why did you choose the perks you did? (EXTENDED RESPONSE)

(MY ANSWER): The first perk that I would offer to my employees would be giving time off and having flexible scheduling. I think this is important because everyone has things that happen in their lives, and we all need to do other things besides our job. I think this will also help me build a strong connection with my employees. Another perk that I would offer my employees is letting them buy excess inventory at a big discount. We may have more than we need here and there, and I think it would be nice to offer some materials and products to employees at a discounted price. Another perk that I would give is featuring special days such as buying lunch for everyone that day or providing waters and ice cream on really hot workdays. A fourth perk that I would offer is free carwashes to the employees working that day, they are welcomed to use our materials and supplies to wash their own vehicles after or before their scheduled work time. Finally, the fifth perk that I would offer my employees is after-work parties, I think this is a great way to build a good connection with everyone and allows all employees to feel welcome to my business.

Assume you are hiring your first employee. What are three behavioral based interview questions that you would ask him or her during an interview? Please state the title of the job and what functions/duties he/she would be responsible for. (EXTENDED RESPONSE)

(MY ANSWER): The job in which a future employee is applying for is an automotive detailer. The functions and duties this job requires are to clean and wax the exterior of each vehicle, including door jams, wheels, and wheel wells, in full detail clean the interior of vehicles with proper cleaning supplies and clean all windows properly inside and out. The three behavioral-based questions that I would ask an employee are "Give me an example of a time you faced a conflict while working on a team. How did you handle that?", "Give me an example of a time when you did not meet a client's expectation. What happened, and how did you attempt to rectify the situation?", and finally "Tell me about a time you failed. How did you deal with the situation?". I feel all these questions pertain to my business and will help give me a sense as to what kind of person they are and what they might be capable of.

What are the three characteristics that a person must display in order to be recognized as an independent contractor by the IRS? Define what each characteristic means. (EXTENDED RESPONSE)

(MY ANSWER): Three characteristics that the IRS requires an independent contractor to display are behavioral, financial, and relational. Behavioral is when the contractor solely decides how the work needs to be done. Financial is when the contractor pays for his/her own expenses directly rather than having the employer pay them. Relational is when the contractor is employed for a project or a distinct term and the services the contractor provides are not central to the operation of the business.
