Central Place Theory
A theory that explains the distribution of services, based on the fact that settlements serve as centers of market areas for services; larger settlements are fewer and farther apart than smaller settlements and provide services for a larger number of people who are willing to travel farther. There is a central place for every range of markets with different markets within a certain distance from the center. This is a pretty self-explanatory one. Just picture a ring with rings in it.
Complementary Region
a region formed by the combination of two areas with different activities or strengths, each of which benefits the other. two areas come together and benefit each other Czech Republic and Slovakia...oh wait.

maximum distance people will travel for a good or service (economic reach). maximum travel distance for goods It's like concerts, you'll only go so far to attend one. If it's a Lindsey Stirling concert, I'll go as far as Houston. If it's Madonna, she better be in my goddamn backyard.

provided only at a central place, or city (available to consumers in a surrounding region). Goods and services in a central place. Small shops, local paper, 4/10 prostitutes.
