How does God treat humanity both fairly, but also compassionately when it comes to the covenants?
God is always faithful, and never abandons his people (he always delivers his promise)
Mosaic Covenant-(God's Promise & Condition)
God promise to the chosen people that they would be a beacon of his revelation. Condition: that they would believe in their one and true God. Faithful to God and the commandments.
Noahic Covenant-(God's Promise, what was the sign)
God promised not to destroy the world with another huge flood. (never to destroy living creatures) The sign is the rainbow
Describe the role or purpose of the prophets? How were they treated?
The role of the prophets was to spread the word of God (Remind and Warn! and Offer Hope) They were often ridiculed by most people, considered looney (Crazy).
Abrahamic Covenant-(God's Promise & Condition)
God promises to make Abram an exceedingly fertile, and the king of nations (To give land to him (Canaan) and to make Abraham family a blessing to the nation) Condition: For Abraham and his descendants to keep God's covenant for the rest of their ages.
Davidic Covenant -(God's Promise & Condition)
God promises to make David's family of kings, and their last one to be the Messiah Condition: Kings should always follow the one true God.
What were the mistakes of David?
He committed adultery and murder. ( Killed Bathsheba's husband at war)
Who was king during the "Golden Period" of Israel?
King David was king during that time.

Kingdom of Israel: - Ten of Israel's twelve tribes - Samaria as capital - Chose idolatry/build rival places of worship - God sent prophets to warn against idolatry - Kingdom fell to Assyria in 722 BC. What are some patterns or themes when it comes to the covenants?
That God makes a promise with a human and later on the human sins and the pattern is repeated again (God has to find a new person to make a covenant with) Jewish people have a pattern of NOT following the covenant
Contrast the common Jewish expectation of a Messiah with Jesus as a Messiah.
The Jewish expected a hero that would unify the nation, they were waiting for a political Leader. Jesus is a spiritual leader. Non-Violant.
What was the New Covenant? Who did it involve?
The New Covenant made to save all people and it involved Jesus dying on the cross for all people. Law of Gospels
What are the two sacred parts of Biblical covenants?
The Promise (God): Promise to give the land of Canaan to the people and make them a blessing to the nations. The Conditions (Humans): Abraham and all his descendants were to be circumcised.
What happens to the unified Kingdom after Solomon?
The kingdom was divided into two (the Northern Kingdom & and the Southern Kingdom)
Who was Solomon? What were the mistakes of Solomon?
Third King of Israel He was David's and Bathsheba's son ( Known for his wisdom) He severely taxed the people for building projects, he also had foreign wives that led him to worship false idols, and he built places for people to worship false idols.
What was the Babylonian Captivity and why did it end?
Was when the people of Judah were being captives in Babylon, It ended when the king went home.
