Containers

This cloud model is an environment that uses a mix of public, community and private cloud concepts with a single management platform.

Hybrid

This is a means of provisioning IT resources such as servers, load balancers, and Storage Area Network (SAN)components quickly. You rent them on an as-needed basis from the service provider's data center. This allows for outsourcing of equipment and support operations. This provides access to the system, but customers must configure and maintain it to meet their needs. It is a self-managed solution to cloud concepts. The company would do its own security patching and maintaining

IaaS

_________-_________________ Virtual Desktop Environments (VDE) utilizes a central desktop through a remote server. When a user accesses logs on to the desktop, changes and work completed are not saved locally long term. As soon as the user logs off, the desktop reverts back to the image on the central location.

Non-Persistent

This solution would provide servers and storage network infrastructure but also provide a multi-tier web application/database platform on top. This platform would not be configured to actually do anything. Your own developers would have to create the software that runs using the platform. This provides preconfigured environments for developing and managing environments. The service provides on-demand computing. It does NOT provide Security Services.

PaaS

Persistent

This is managed by a vendor. It is available over a network and is a pay-as-you-go model. It is a full service product.
