Constant of proportionality

A constant ratio of two variables related proportionally

Constant OR Direct variation = y=3x: the 3 is the C.O.P.

To find if the data table is proportional: do: y/x for each entry. IF the answer is the same for all values, then the table is proportional!

Proportional relationship

Two quantities vary directly with one another at the same rate

Graph is proportional when:

the graph is a straight line or LINEAR and goes through (0,0)

when graphing, you plot the x first, then the y (x,y)
