Subject of SAR is not in distress. Either located, rescues and delivered safely or further search efforts do not raise the probability of success

The coxswain is the direct representative of the CO/OIC and has authority and responsibility which are independent of rank or seniority in relation to other personal embarked which exist only while the boat is engaged.
Can the coxswain leave the boat?
The coxswain may leave the boat if in the coxswains judgement and after careful consideration of the remaining crew members experience, the operational benefits clearly outweigh the risk of leaving the boat without a qualified coxswain and when time permits every effort is made by the coxswain to receive concurrence of their OPCON
