Most effective when it occurs within 6 hours of ROSC, The criteria to start includes: -Out of hospital VF or non-perfusing VT with ROSC but no neurological verbal or physical response. -18-80 years of age (research in the pregnant women has not been conclusive) -Absence of cardiogenic shock -Some facilities also use APACHE scores for inclusion.
