Lone tile

A lone tile is a single tile that is currently not connected to any other tile in your hand

Think about lone tiles

Better to throw them out instead of something that could become a set

Focus on making a complete hand rather than Yaku

Can always keep it closed and riichi when you reach tenpai

When in ryanshanten or more, try to create 1 shanten with a high ukrire if possible

Ideally this means making a riichi pinfu hand

At 4 or more pairs it becomes ryanshanten from 7 pair hand

If you intend to open, 3 pairs are best

3-7 > 2,8 > terminals >honors

Moddle tiles are in general better than edge/honor tiles

Try not to have more than 2 pairs in your hand

Otherwise it will be a toitsuba game and they will be hard to complete

Groups of 2 is better than a lone tile
