Symptoms of digitalis toxicity

Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea *USUALLY FIRST SIGN* Loss of appetite/abdominal pain Hyperkalemia Confusion Fatigue/Malaise/dizziness Vision changes including yellow/green halo and blurred/double vision Dysrhythmias - can be lethal

Treatment of digitalis toxicity:

Digoxin administration should be discontinued immediately Treat arrhythmias and electrolyte imbalances per guidelines EXCEPT: In presence of high potassium and arrhythmias, DO NOT GIVE CALCIUM GLUCONATE

Digoxin toxicity

reduces QT, T-wave inversion, increased PR interval, blurry yellow vision, hyperkalemia
