Computer Operating System
A computer program that manages all the other programs on your computer, stores files in an organized manner, enables you to use software programs, and coordinates the use of computer hardware such as the keyboard and mouse.
Defragment
A drive maintenance procedure that rearranges fragments or parts of files on a magnetic hard drive so each file is stored on the drive in contiguous clusters. This helps your computer run more efficiently.

A number of computers that are linked together so that they can exchange data.

Child Folder
A subfolder of the current folder.
Display Resolutions
Amount of pixels that are in a frame on a screen. The recommended resolution is 800 x 600 for Windows 10.

a computer network consisting of a worldwide network of computer networks that use the TCP/IP network protocols to facilitate data transmission and exchange
Server
a computer that provides client stations with access to files and printers as shared resources to a computer network
Peripherals
a device or unit that operates separately from the CPU but is connected to it
Template
a document that contains formatting, styles, and sample text that you can use to create new documents
Sync Center
a feature that allows you to keep information in sync between your computer and files stored in folders on network servers
Respect
a feeling of deep admiration for someone or something elicited by their abilities, qualities, or achievements
File Extension
a group of three or four letters occurring after a period in a file name, indicating the format of the file
Sleep Mode
a low-power state of a computer, that allows it to be restarted quickly
Intranet
a network designed for the exclusive use of computer users within an organization that cannot be accessed by users outside the organization
Virus
a piece of code that is capable of copying itself and typically has a detrimental effect, such as corrupting the system or destroying data
Extranet
a private network that uses Internet technologies to share business information with select corporate partners or key customers
Trojan Horse
a program downloaded and installed on a computer that appears harmless, but is, in fact, malicious
Software
a program or instructions that give directions to the computer.
Public Folders
a quick and easy way to share files and information; viewable by other users and devices with the proper settings and restrictions set by default by the application
Product Key
a string of characters that certifies that a user is authorized to install a program
Phishing
a technique to gain personal information for the purpose of identity theft, usually by means of fraudulent e-mail
Responsibility
a thing that one is required to do as part of a job, role, or legal obligation
Spyware
a type of Malware that locates and saves data from users without them knowing about it
Guest Account
account used for users who need temporary access to the computer
Telnet
allows users to test connectivity to remote machines and issue commands through the use of a keyboard; is one of the simplest ways to check connectivity on certain ports
Task Manager
allows you to view each of the tasks (processes) and the overall performance of the computer

an efficient and orderly approach to tasks
