What is this 2008? I just sent it to you via email. Let me know what I screwed up.

... Indent second line of each reference entry

This is great to hear. Most Soldiers give me a deer-in-the-headlights-look when I start talking about using APA style format, and incorporating references into their writing. Why don't you humor me and give me the first in-text citation for ADP 6-22, Army Leadership, which was published in 2012. How would you cite that the first time in-text?

Department of the Army [DA], 2012)

Well, maybe I spoke to soon. Take a look at the transition sentence at the end of this paragraph. What might be better to use here?

It is also your duty to respect the team and resist the temptation to make decisions that might undermine outcomes or results.

Look at the quote you included here. Is this proper APA format? Come on, Garcia. What is the proper way to cite this quote in the text?

Move the page number to the end of the quote, and add the author and date.

Have you done APA format before?

N/A

Have you written a paper with the inclusion of references before?

N/A

Garcia, I use a level I heading for the introduction section, right?

No

Yeah... that's exactly it. You want to make sure to support the thesis by describing those values in the body of the paper. Do you understand the proper elements of a paragraph?

Paragraphs have a single focus described by a topic sentence and the remaining sentences adequately develop that topic. The paragraph should end with a transition to a new paragraph or focus.

Spot on. So have you thought about what you want your thesis to be?

Strong Army leadership begins with integrity, duty, and respect because these three values are more closely related to leader development.

Here, let's take a look at this section. See anything that needs to be changed with the formatting?

The line spacing should be double-spaced and the paragraphs indented.

Okay, do you see any issues with your title page?

The running head is not formatted properly. I should've made the title in all caps.

Garcia, remind me again, for in-text citations when do I use the "et al."

Use "et al." for any citation with six or more authors or for the second time you cite a reference with more than two authors.
