- Convulsion associated wit h an elevated temperature > 38 degrees or 100.4 F - Occurs between 6 mo-5 years old

Tx of febrile seizures

- Counseling , reassurance, educating the parent - Antipyretics - Tx w/ benzodiapine if lasts > 5 minutes

Risk factor for febrile seizure

- Elevated fever - Age - VIral infections - Family hx - Recent immunization
