Most basic, automatic survival behaviors. Midbrain - Visual & auditory reflexes, motor control. Pons - Mostly nerve tracts between brain and spinal cord. Medulla oblongata - Cardiovascular, respiratory regulation

Cerebrum

Executive functions of brain (consciousness). Divided into right and left hemispheres. Motor areas, sensory areas, association areas

Cerebellum

Integrates cerebral motor instructions with proprioceptive information from body to coordinate voluntary movement

Diencephalon

Thalamus - relay station for cerebral cortex Hypothalamus - Emotions, autonomic control, homeostasis, sleep, endocrine system regulation Epithalamus - melatonin-producing pineal gland
