Fighting

A fighting game is a game where a player controls a character to fight against another player or AI. Fighting games feature special moves and combos that are triggered through a sequence of button pressing and joystick movements. Fighting games feature a wide variety of characters to choose from each with their own unique skills and abilities that alter can alter one's strategy during a match.

Shooter (not FPS)

a game in which the user is given a specific weapon, based on the game's theme, that they will use throughout the game to test their speed and reaction time. The main purpose is to use the weapon or weapons that the user is given to complete missions or objectives without being killed or dying.

Platformer

a video game genre or sub genre of action games, the player will control a character to jump between suspended platforms and avoid obstacle.

Simulation

attempts to copy various activities from real life in the form of a game (Links to an external site.) for various purposes such as training (Links to an external site.), analysis, or prediction. Usually there are no strictly defined goals in the game, with the player instead allowed to control a character freely.

MMORPG

combination of role-playing video games and massively multiplayer online games in which a very large number of players interact with one another within a virtual world.

MOBA

comes from strategy video games that organized with real-time strategy, in which player controls a single character in a team who compete versus another team of players. The object is to destroy the opposite team's main structure with the assistance of periodically spawned computer controlled units and set paths. Every player has different ability and advantages to do some contributions as a team.

Tower Defense

defend a player's territories or possessions by constructing the enemy attackers, usually achieved by placing defensive structures around tower. The basic gameplay elements of tower defense are territories or possessions (or collectively the "base") that must be defended by the player, the base must survive waves of multiple incoming "enemy" attacks and placement of "Tower" elements, or obstructions along the path of attacking enemies.

Rhythm

defined by its mechanical focus on testing the player's sense of musical timing. Players are usually given a set of buttons and signals to press those buttons in time with music, to either mimic the playing of an instrument or the steps in a dance routine. Rhythm games can either focus on challenging the player's reaction time, or on their ability to memorize sequences.

RPG

Sandbox

style of the game in which minimal character limitations are placed on the game, it allows the gamer to roam and change a virtual world at will. A sandbox game especially emphasizes roaming and it allows the gamer to select tasks. Besides, it also well known as an open-world or free-roaming game.

Roguelike

sub-genre of role-playing video games characterized by a dungeon crawl through generated levels, turn based gameplay (where the game flow is partitioned into defined parts called turns), title-based graphics, and permanent death of the character. The Rogue-like genre is based on high fantasy narrative. The characters within this genre are customized to look like the player, and you can adjust the skill of your character. The content that is within this genre has to do with moving your character through the dungeon, collecting treasure along the way, while having to fight monsters. After you defeat the monsters, your character will earn experience points which will help your character gain an experience level. The goal of these games are to kill as many monsters as you can.

Beat 'em up

the protagonist fighting a large number of enemies in hand-to-hand combat. Traditionally, Beat Em' Up games have very simplistic gameplay and are normally 2 dimensional. They are very often set in urban environments and feature crime fighting and revenge storylines. There is normally a very large opponent or "boss" at the end of every level.

Stealth

type of game that primarily use stealth to kill or defeat enemies without fighting with enemies. Stealth game allow the player hiding sneaking or using disguises. Player usually can do more damage when they are stealth than fighting against enemies.

type of simulation game. The player could build their own world. Set up the game view structure and the rule of the game. The CMS game purpose not defeated the enemy, but also keep building something within the context of an ongoing process.

Games of this genre rely on the dark and mature themes to produce a sense of tension and fear within the player of the game.
