Kiel Bay

This is a bay to the south of Fyn and to the southwest of Lolland. It is connected to the Kattegat via the Great and Little Belts, and to the Baltic Sea by the Mecklenburger Bay.

Mecklenburg Bay

This is a bay to the south of the island of Lolland. It is a western extension of the Baltic Sea, and connects to Kiel Bay to its west.

Skagerrak

This is a strait that connects the North Sea with the Kattegat and more broadly the Baltic Sea. It separates the Jutland Peninsula from Norway.

Øresund

This is a strait that separates the island of Zealand from the southern tip of Sweden. It is crossed by a bridge of the same name connecting the capital and largest city, Copenhagen, with the Swedish city of Malmö. This strait is one of the busiest waterways in the world.

Great Belt

This is one of the three Danish Straits, and it effectively divides the country in half between the Jutland Peninsula/Fyn and the islands of Zealand and Lolland. It is the largest of the three straits, and connects the Kattegat with Kiel Bay.

Copenhagen

This is the capital and largest city in Denmark, located in the eastern part of the country. It is situated on the east coast of Zealand, on the Øresund. This city has landmarks such as Tivoli Gardens, the Little Mermaid Statue, and the colorful neighborhood of Nyhavn.

This is the currency of Denmark.

Lolland

This is the fourth largest island in Denmark, located south of Zealand and north of Mecklenburg Bay. It is known as the "pancake island" because of its flatness.

Bornholm

This is the furthest east island of Denmark, located in the Baltic Sea between Sweden and Poland. Fishing, farming, crafts, and tourism are the island's main industries.

Mollehoj

This is the highest mountain in Denmark, at 560 feet. It is located on the Jutland Peninsula.

Zealand

This is the largest island in Denmark, located just west of Sweden and north of Lolland. The capital and largest city in Denmark, Copenhagen, is located on this island that is surrounded by the Kattegat, Øresund, and Great Belt.

Fyn

This is the third largest island in Denmark, located between the Jutland Peninsula and Zealand. The Little and Great Belts run to the west and east of this island that was the birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen.

Little Belt

This is the westernmost of the three Danish Straits. It separates the Jutland Peninsula and the island of Fyn, and connects the Kattegat with Kiel Bay.
