Geraldine Moore the Poet Reasons
What teachers forget:
Not everyone has a perfect life.
Her "poem"
Nothing lovely been happening in my life, I haven't seen a flower since Mothers Day, and the sun doesn't shine on my side of the street. No robins come sing on my window sill, just the rain comes and the bills come, and the men to move out our furniture. I'm sorry, I can't write no pretty poem.
Problems during class:
In geometry she doesn't understand how the squares and angels will help with her real problems in life. In hygiene class she wonders how her body knows what it needs but she doesn't know what she needs for tomorrow.
Mrs. Scott's reaction:
Cries since it came from the heart.
Problems at home:
Her mom is sick and her dad she hasn't seen in a long time, her older sister takes care of her.
Reasons to be upset:
Holes in her outfit for school, poor people in the neighborhood, upsetting lunch hour which she doesn't like the food.
A painful discovery:
She is evicted from her house all her things are outside.
"Nothing lovely is happening in my life."
Who said it-Geraldine Moore, To whom-Mrs.Scott, Significance- It basically wraps up the whole story.
