The capitol cares for them and wants to see them live. So they make the rule change. They also act like they are in love and use it to their advantage to get supplies from sponsors because the sponsors want them to live.

There's a lot of trust throughout the novel. For example Katniss trust Gale back in district 12. Gale was basically Katniss's only friend. Katniss also trust that Mr. Mellark will not let Prim starve while she is gone. Another example would be that Rue trust Katniss and Katniss trust Rue. Katniss is basically Rue's only friend during the games until Rue die's. One last example would be Katniss's trust for Peeta. Trust is clearly displayed throughout the novel. I think that this is trying to tell us that we can always trust someone. That we always need to have someone that we can trust.

They are poor and need food so they put their names in more times to get tesserae.

To show that the capitol had complete power over them. The districts rebelled against the Capitol.

People are the way they are for a reason. Whether they took the high road with God's help or not. Life has made them who they are. *Explain with references to the text why Katniss is such a realist who always sees the bad in life.

A example in the book of how Katniss sees the bad in life would be like when Katniss says on page 6, "district 12 where you can starve to death in safety.
