HALOGEN bulb
bright, white light (most like sun); very hot; expensive but long-lasting
NORTH/EAST natural light
cool, blueish tone
FLUORESCENT bulb
diffused, blueish glow; produces less shadow
TASK use light
focuses light where it is most needed; used for close-up activities (i.e. strip)
RECESSED light fixture
hidden in the ceiling (like can lights or eyeball lights)
TRACK light fixture
lighting mounted on a metal strip that allows fixtures to be placed anywhere along the strip
LED bulb
no heat; very expensive but consumes less energy and lasts up to 25 years
COVE light fixture
placed just below the ceiling with a board/deflector beneath it
ACCENT/DECORATIVE use light
provides concentrated beam of light to focus on a decorative area or object (i.e. cove, portable, track)
GENERAL use light
provides enough light to see everything in the room.
SOUTH/WEST natural light
warm, orange tone
INCANDESCENT bulb
yellow glow; uses most energy
