Lab 3.4 Interpreting Pedigree Diagrams
(Q002) What is the phenotype of person A in the pedigree?
unable to roll the tongue
(Q004) What is the phenotype of person B in the pedigree?
unable to roll the tongue
(Q012) What is the phenotype of person F in the pedigree?
unable to roll the tongue
(Q016) Are you 100% sure of each person's genotype? If not, which ones are problematic? Why?
No i am not 100% sure about the genotype of " D " and genotype of " G " .because if the homozygous dominant or RR is found in the D and crossed withe the E which is heterozygous dominant or Rr then their offsprings are RR, RR , Rr, Rr. So 50% is homozygous dominant or RR and 50% is heterozygous dominant or Rr. So the genotype may be homozygous dominant or RR OR heterozygous dominant or Rr.
(Q007) What is the genotype of person D in the pedigree?
RR or Rr
(Q013) What is the genotype of person G in the pedigree?
RR or Rr
(Q005) What is the genotype of person C in the pedigree?
Rr
(Q009) What is the genotype of person E in the pedigree?
Rr
(Q006) What is the phenotype of person C in the pedigree?
able to roll the tongue
(Q008) What is the phenotype of person D in the pedigree?
able to roll the tongue
(Q010) What is the phenotype of person E in the pedigree?
able to roll the tongue
(Q014) What is the phenotype of person G in the pedigree?
able to roll the tongue
(Q001) The pedigree diagram on p. 71 of your lab manual is for trait R in a family. Use this pedigree diagram to answer the questions in this exercise. Trait R is the Mendelian trait in humans for tongue rolling. The allele for the ability to roll the tongue (R) is dominant over the allele for the inability to roll the tongue (r).What is the genotype of person A in the pedigree? RR
rr
(Q003) What is the genotype of person B in the pedigree?
rr
(Q011) What is the genotype of person F in the pedigree?
rr
(Q015) Are you 100% sure of each person's phenotype? If not, which ones are problematic? Why?
yes, according to my charts I am sure of each person phenotypes.
