Any facility performing quantitative, qualitative, or screening assays on materials derived from the human body are subject yo CLIA, which indentifies the standards of laboratory testing

Registration

Generally this is a voluntary process that indentifies a health professional as listed on a registry,but may also involve a process similar to certification or licensure. A person may be permitted to perform the same or similar function as a license practitioner; however the registered person may not use the little afforded and protected under licensure

This is voluntary process that indentifies a health professional as having achieved minimum standards (usually through examination) established by a professional organization
