MSDS (material safety data sheet)

a document that contains info. on the potential hazards (health, fire, reactivity and environmental) and how to work safely with the chemical product.

Section 9-Physical and Chemical properties

appearance, physical state, color, odor, vapor pressure, pH, Solubility, boiling point, evaporation rate

identifies toxicological info and health effects, what happens if inhaled, ingested, skin and eye contact

Section 8-Exposure Controls/Personal Protection

indicates exposure limits, engineering controls, and personal protective measures that can be used to minimize worker exposure

Section 4-First Aid Measures

initial care that should be given by untrained responders to an individual who has been exposed to the chemical

Section 14 - Transport Information

provides guidance on classification information for shipping and transporting of hazardous chemicals

Section 13- Disposal Considerations

provides guidance on proper disposal practices, recycling or reclamation of the chemical or its container.

Section 5-Fire-Fighting Measures

recommendations for fighting a fire caused by the chemical.
