Itraconazole
- for histoplasmosis and blastomycosis: 2 capsules daily - for candidiasis: vigorously swish twice daily for 1-2 weeks
Nyastatin
1 or 2 pastilles dissolved slowly in the mouth - not ideal for those with dry mouth
Fluconazole
2 tablets on day 1 and then one tablet daily for 1-2 weeks
Clotrimazole
Dissolve 1 troche slowly in the mouth - not ideal for those with dry mouth
Ketoconazole
One tablet daily, not to be used as initial therapy for oral candidiasis
Amphotericin B
Rinse and hold in the mouth as long as possible
