It is the right thing to do because those who have created something and own it want recognition for the work they have done. It is only fair to those who have spent time on something that's theirs.
Why is plagiarism by students considered a serious offense?
It would be very unfair if students use it on their work, took credit for it, and got a grade for it without it being theirs.
What is content scraping?
It's when you scrape for content by copying and pasting information from other websites.
Do personal ideas have to be cited?
No, if you have ideas that are your own or if something is simply your opinion, then there is no need to cite.
Are plagiarism and copyright infringement the same thing?
No, they are not.
