Prior exposure: (will audience negatively or positively respond to your visual aids based on exposure)-ask questions: "has my audience heard this before, what was the result of this prior exposure, why was the prior exposure ineffective" 5. make sure aids support points 6. keep aids simple and clear (test size of visual aids, use contrasting colors, make sure they are legible and audible) 7. rehearse with your presentation aids, especially if they are technologically dependent
