It is saying that baby is to cub as acorn is to marble. Meaning that the difference in potential between the baby and cub is as drastic as to an acorn's potential to a marble's lack of potential.

It is saying that we have guilt because we have free will. But they do not because they are based off of instinct, meaning that they do not have the choice we have.
