Chief Executive
business role; the president is the boss for government workers in the Executive Branch, decides how laws of US are to be enforced, chooses officials and advisors
Chief Diplomat
foreign affairs role; president decides what American diplomats and ambassador shall say to foreign governments, president makes US foreign policy
Chief Legislature
lawmaking role; only Congress has the actual power yo make laws, but the Constitution hives the president power to influence Congress in lawmaking
Commander-In-Chief
military role; president is in charge of US armed forced, decides where troops shall be stationed
Chief Guardian of the Economy
money role; president is concerned with such things as unemployment, high prices, taxes, business profits, and the general prosperity of the country, helps make economy run smoothly
Chief of State
representative role; requires that president be an inspiring example for the American people and represents eveybody
Chief of Party
supports his/her party role; president helps members of his/her political party get elected
