Solving Equations in One Variable
Equation
A statement formed by placing an equals sign between two numerical or algebraic expressions.
Solution (root) for an equation.
Any value of the variable that makes the equation true.
What is an easy to simplify an equation?
Transfer (isolate) all variables to one side of the equation and transfer(isolate) all numbers to the other side. Reverse the signs in the process.
How do you find the solution of an equation?
Transfer the given equation into into simpler and equivalent equation that has the same solution. The last statement of the given equation after we transfer it should isolate the variable to one side of the equation.
