12 Ga. Ferret Tear Gas Projectile (OC or CS)

Weapons

A three-year review of Kansas City, Missouri Police Department shooting incidents revealed 67% occurred within 12 feet and only 8% from a distance greater than 45 feet. Officers used the Weaver/Point Shoulder Position 73 % and kneeling 21 % of the time. The prone position was not utilized. Officers also averaged 2.3 shots per incident.

Another responsibility of the Team is to serve as a compact, flexible, and highly mobile operational strike force to be utilized for attacking unusual or special police crime problems which require a concentration and/or saturation of personnel at a given time or place without interrupting normal beat patrol. Mass Arrest Incidents - Transporting, Holding, and Processing

Arresting Officers: A tag shall be affixed to the handcuffs or flex cuffs identifying Arresting Officer, Arrestee's name and DOB, time and location of arrest, and Ordinance Violation. Weapons

Benelli M4 Entry Shotgun The Benelli M4 Tactical Shotgun 12-guage shotgun. This weapon will hold 5 rounds in the magazine tube, which is attached to the underside of the barrel. The weapon has a stationary barrel and uses a piston driven auto regulatory gas operated system (A.R.G.O.) to operate its action. The barrel is chambered to accommodate 2 " or 3" Magnum cartridges, buckshot or slug; "Ferret", "Bean-Bag", and "low recoil" cartridges will not function the semi-automatic action.

Contains 46 ounces of 10% Oleoresin Capsicum. It sprays in a stream that makes this product much more target specific. Ballistic breacher

E. The Ballistic Breacher will place two rounds into the door mechanism damaging or destroying the locking mechanisms. The Ballistic Breacher will do this two times for proper qualification. F. Once the second ballistic round is placed in its intended target the operator will not work the slide and place the shotgun on safe to ensure a spent round remains in the breech of the shotgun. to ensure that an unintentional discharge after is made into a structure of the breacher shotgun does not occur.

Patrol procedure/ forced entry

EXCEPTION: Tactical Teams are exempt from completing an Interdepartment Communication when conducting search warrants, as all information is videotaped and/or documented in the appropriate reports.

It is a long burning, high volume continuous discharge grenade. It contains 75.6 grams of agent with a discharge time of 30-40 seconds. It is a pyrotechnic device safe for outdoor use only. **Exception to this is the use of a "Burn Box" which allows it's use on the interior of a residence. Caution taken

LENGTH OF SERVICE Police Officers are required to have at least three years of continuous service, of which eighteen months have been served in the field.

Misfire Procedures-explosive breaching

Misfire Procedures- 1. Re-cock the device and attempt to fire two (2) more times. If the firing assembly fails to fire, NO PERSONNEL MOVE. 2. The Breacher will cut approximately six inches of shock tube, insert new shotgun primer and reattach the shock tube initiating device's firing head. 3. Fire on Command. 4. If the charge still misfires, announce "Misfire" then; 5. Wait 30 minutes before inspection of the charge. 6 If no initiation then disconnect all firing assemblies from device and request Bomb and arson personnel to claim or disrupt the charge keeping a safe perimeter until complete.

10. Noise Flash Diversionary Device

NFDD's (Noise Flash Diversionary Devices) have proven to be an effective tool when making tactical entrances and exits from a structure. Upon deployment a bright flash followed by a loud decibel explosion occurs. This disorients the suspect(s) without harm. The steel frames are reloadable by TRT personnel.

Selection process

PHYSICAL CONDITION It should be noted that the entrance standards are minimum physical requirements. After assignment to a Tactical Response Team, each officer is expected to maintain an above average level of physical fitness. It is important that each officer perform the Tactical Physical Agility Test under a minimum time of 3 minutes.

The purpose of the Explosive Breacher is to provide Tactical Teams with one or more entry point(s) by the use of the least amount of explosives necessary creating a rapid, positive and dynamic access to an objective through any obstruction, i.e.. walls, doors, roofs, windows, etc. This is accomplished by Explosive Initiators tied to Non-Electronic tubes attached to explosives (Det. Cord, Sheet Explosive, Booster, PETN) which are placed on or near the target for the best results required for the operation. Sergeants will determine along with the designated A and B breachers if this type of entry will be utilized and Tactical Commanders will have approval for the placing or initiating of explosives.

The pursuit fails to meet the criteria outlined in Section C of this Annex.

CS Flameless Expulsion Grenade # 2042

This grenade's contents are expelled upon actuation of a CO2 cartridge. It is designed for indoor use. It's discharge time is approximately 3 seconds and contains 4.5 grams of agent.

12. ARWEN 37MM

This multi-shot weapon has the capability to fire less than lethal ammunition at an intended target. This device is a less than lethal option that is available only to TRT personnel.

11 Super Sock "Bean-Bag" 12 gauge Ammunition

This round delivers a less lethal impact to the intended target.
