SA: Compare the two creation accounts in the Book of Genesis. Write about at least two differences. Then, discuss how these creation accounts compare to the other accounts of creation in the Bible (Isaiah, Psalms, Proverbs, etc.).

The two creation accounts in the book of Genesis share many similarities and differences. One difference involves the process of the creation of human beings. In Genesis 1, males and females were created at the same time, and were the last creatures to be created. In Genesis 2, God first created Adam, and when He could not find a suitable companion of him, God formed Eve from Adam's rib. Another difference is the image of God. In Genesis 2, God is depicted with more human characteristics. Meanwhile, Genesis 1 shows God as a more powerful, all-knowing being. These creation accounts are also different from other accounts in the Bible. The purpose of Isaiah, for example, is to comfort those in captivity in Babylonia. Psalms provide songs of worship and praise for God. Finally, Proverbs personify and bring wisdom about God and His good works. All these different creation accounts provide different purposes and points of view on God and creation.
