Thomas Alva Edison
How The light bulb the solved the problem.
The light bulb made it possible to produce electric light, giving better light than the gas lighting that preceded it.
When the light bulb was invented.
Edison's major innovation was the first industrial research lab, which was built in Menlo Park, a part of Raritan Township, Middlesex County, New Jersey (today named Edison in his honor). It was built with the funds from the sale of Edison's quadruplex telegraph. After his demonstration of the telegraph, Edison was not sure that his original plan to sell it for $4,000 to $5,000 was right, so he asked Western Union to make a bid. He was surprised to hear them offer $10,000 ($208400 in today's dollars.), which he gratefully accepted. The quadruplex telegraph was Edison's first big financial success, and Menlo Park became the first institution set up with the specific purpose of producing constant technological innovation and improvement. Edison was legally attributed with most of the inventions produced there, though many employees carried out research and development under his direction. His staff was generally told to carry out his directions in conducting research, and he drove them hard to produce results.
Thomas Edison's invention
Its the light bulb.
Did the light bulb change the lives of people around the world?
Light bulbs have affected our lives in many positive ways!! One way is we no longer have to use candles, I'm pretty sure that has caused less fires! Another way is we can stay up and work for as long as we want because, unlike the ancient Romans we no longer have to depend on the sun's light to work. The light bulb was a wonderful creation that will most likely always be used for many generations to come. It is one of those inventions that will never need improvement!
Thomas Edison timeline

Where the light bulb was invented.
The first practical incandescent light bulb. Edison and his team of researchers in Edison's laboratory in Menlo Park, N.J., tested more than 3,000 designs for bulbs between 1878 and 1880. In November 1879, Edison filed a patent for an electric lamp with a carbon filament.
How did the lightbulb change our lives?
The light bulb changed our lives a lot. If Thomas Edison (inventor of the light bulb) hadn't invented it, then we would all be stumbling in the dark. And since the time he created it, everybody is using it. Look around. Look in your house, and in your neiborhood houses. And in the schools. Do you see light bulbs? See, if you didn't have the light bulb, you're a step away from a blind mole.
