How does your faith affect how you handle stress?

If I had a friend who suddenly changed their behavior and started distancing themselves from me and their friends, I would try to talk with them in person. I would ask them about what was going on and how their relationship with God is. I would remind them that their faith is vital especially in their suicidal situation. God does not want them to feel this way and especially not to die and kill themselves. After we were done talking, I would tell them to talk to a counselor and a good strong Christian adult they trust. Then, I might invite them to go on a walk every week or so and talk about their feelings, emotions, and struggles. Also, I would ask them to come to my youth group. Some things they could do to help with their situation would to slow down their schedule and set their priorities and surround themselves with uplifting, Christian friends.

Imagine you have a friend who says they are thinking about suicide. Write an essay explaining how might deal with the situation. Include in your essay: Two signs of suicide that you have noticed in your friend. How their faith in God can make a difference. Where can they turn for help. What natural things can they do to help themselves.

When we pray to God for answers, sometimes we have to wait and other times we do not get the answer we wanted. If we ask Him to help us ace a test, but we do not study, then it is our fault and not His. When we look at life with God's perspective, we are no longer focused on our wants, needs, or mistakes. We become happier and cheerier. Our actions should reflect our relationship with God. If we have positive actions and attitudes, our circumstances will be positive. If we stay organized and have a strong relationship with God, we will be less stressed and not doubt or question Him. Without God, we are pulled into fear, doubt, and worry.

Write an essay explaining how your faith in God and in His Word can make a difference in handling stress. (Answers will vary.)
