Requires blocking the source of oxygenor smothering the fuel

Class B

Requires non conducting agents

Class C

Requires dry powder agent or sand

Class D

Requires agent that prevents splashing and cool as well as smother fire

Class K

Class D Fire

Combustible or reactive metals. Such as sodium, potassium, magnesium, and lithium

Class ABC extinguishers(multipurpose)

Dry chemical reagents.can be used on class A, B, and C fires

Class C extinguishers

Dry chemical(abc), carbon dioxide(bc),halon or other non conducting agents

Class C Fire

Electrical equipment.

Class B Fire

Flammable liquids and vapors. Such as paint, oil, grease, or gasoline.

Class K Fire

High temperature cooking oils, grease, or fats

Class A Fire

Ordinary combustible materials. Such as wood, paper, clothing

Class K extinguishers

Potassium based alkaline liquid specifically to fight high temperature grease, oils, or fat fires by cooling and smothering without splashing.can be used on A, B, and C fires

Class B extinguishers

Use foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide

Class A extinguishers

Use soda and acid or water to cool the fire
