Action Verb

-A verb that expresses either physical or mental activity -divided into two categories: Transitive and Intransitive

Verb Phrase

-A verb phrase is made up of at least one helping verb followed by a main verb: has have had do does did am is are was were be being been can could shall should will would may might must: These are BLANK (would have given out the answer ^-^)

Intransitive Action Verb

-Action verb expresses action without passing the action from a subject to an object. -There is no answer this type of sentence.

Transitive Action Verb

-Action verb expresses an action directed toward a person or thing named in the sentence. This person or thing is called the DIRECT OBJECT. -find the direct object, say the verb, and then say WHAT or WHOM? Has answer in sentence

Linking Verb

-Serves as a link between two words. -Links the subject with information about the subject. am is are was were be being been stay turn appear remain sound seem look feel become grow taste (and) smell

Transitive and Intransitive Action Verbs

-verb can be transitive in one sentence and intransitive in another.
