Wild Cats
Cheetah
A very fast African big cat. Has spots to blend into it's surroundings. Fastest land animal. long-legged spotted cat of Africa and southwestern Asia having nonretractile claws. Acinonyx jubatus is the scientific name. I would consider it pretty popular.
Jaguarondi
Also can be spelled "Jaguarandi." Felis Herpailurus. Often mistaken as an otter because of its weird body structure. Can be found From southwestern United States to South America.
Liger
An organism that can't reproduce (sterile) because 2 different species reproduced. Offspring of a male lion and a female tiger. Can wiegh up to 1000 pounds! Only can be breed in captivity, since Tigers and lions don't live in the same areas. Since Lions are social animals, and tigers are loners, this can cause depression in this animal :(.
Panther
Black panther isn't an actually a subspecies, but refers to any cat (not house cats, however) that has a black coat- even lions can have black fur!
Sand cat
Felis margarita. despite it's cute face and small stature, it is not tamed, so do not go up and try to pet this wild cat! This cat has a flat head with low ears and chubby cheeks. Found around Africa and the Middle East.
Tigon
Has a tiger father, and. a lion mother. Very similar to the Liger. Not able to have a babies :(. Much smaller then a liger. Does not have a full mane, but has some "ruff". Since lions are social animals, and tigers are loners, this can cause depression in this animal, also. Males are smaller then females. Very aggressive.

Tiger
Large feline of forests in most of Asia having a tawny coat with black stripes: The young of this animVery popular big cats. Panthera tigris is the scientific name. Tigress is the female name for this feline.
Kodkod
Leopardus guigna. Is, surprisingly, a wild cat, and isn't a common pet. The smallest cat in the Western Hemisphere. A very unknown animal.
Ocelot
Leopardus pardalis. Is a spotted, leopard-like cat, ranging from Texas to South America. A nocturnal wildcat that has a greyish or yellow coat with black spots. Starred in the popular game- Minecraft! Rosettes (the circular shapes on it's coat) is very good at hiding this animal in the jungle.
Oncilla
Leopardus tigrinus. Can be found in Central and South America. Also fairly unknown and elusive. Can be mistaken for an Ocelot.
Margay
Leopardus wiedii. This cat is one of the best climber out of all cats. Can be mistaken for a Oncilla or an Ocelot. Has black spots all over this cat. Can be found In the Mexico/Texas border to South America. Its tail ail has little rings going around it.
Serval
Leptailurus serval. slender long-legged African wildcat having large untufted ears and tawny black-spotted coat. Carnivore. Can be tamed! (However, it is hard to do)
Lynx
Lynx canadensis. Is a wildcat of Canada and the northern U.S. short-tailed wildcats with usually tufted ears. A wild cat. Bobcat is the nickname for this animal.
Clouded Leopard
Neofelis nebulosa. A wild cat that lives in Asia. Named after its beautiful spotted coat. A fairly rare cat. Nicknamed "Mint Leopard" from china due to its blotchy coat which resemble mint leaves.
Jaguar
Panthera onca. Is the largest cat in the western hemisphere. A large spotted feline of tropical America similar to the leopard. the largest cat in the Americas.
Leopard
Panthera pardus. is a large, spotted cat of Asia or Africa. large feline of African and Asian forests usually having a tawny coat with black spots. Represents the fraudulent. Leopardess is the female name for this animal.
Snow Leopard
Panthera uncia. Large feline of upland central Asia having long thick whitish fur. Leopardess is also what you call the female of this felidae
Lion
Pride is what you call a group of lions. A roar is what you call the sound it makes to intimidate animals. Panthera leo is the scientific name. Also a very popular big cat. Lioness is the female name for this animal.
Cougar
Puma is the other popular name for this cat. Felis concolor. considered small in size. Large American feline resembling a lion. A large American wild cat with a plain tawny to grayish coat, found from Canada to Patagonia.
Leopon
Result of a lioness and a male leopard. Very short life spans (one can live for around 20 years) because leopards can live around 23 years live in captivity, and lions can live around 13 years in captivity.
Caracal
The largest "small cat" of Africa. Extremely good at climbing and jumping. Felis Caracal is the scientific name.
