-Writing a rough essay with everything you think you need to include. SHOULD NOT BE PERFECT AND YOU SHOULDN'T WORRY ABOUT DETAILS -Draft 1: Downdraft- for your eyes only -Revised, Draft 2: "updraft"- ready for peer eyes

-improving content and sentence structure -fixing content ideas
What is prewriting?
-the thinking, planning, and organizing you do BEFORE you write -reading sources and finding quotes -Brainstorming -Topic selection~ overall goal -outline / organizer -Freewriting, mapping, listing
