Canine Bordetella (Kennel Cough)

Bacterial infection frequently involved with kennel cough. Can occur simultaneously with distemper, adneovirus type 2, parainfluenza and other respiratory infections.

Feline Outdoor Socialite

Outdoors sometimes, comes in contact with unknown cats periodically. Required vaccines: Rv, FVRCP(Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Feline Leukemia.) (AKA 4 in 1 with RV rabies)

Protects against heartworms and also intestinal parasites such as hookworms, whipworms, roundworms, tapeworms and prevents flea outbreaks. Pups can get HWP at 6 months of age without HWT

Feline Core Vaccines

Rabies given at 12wks then annually. FVRCPC given 8,12,16wks,1yr then every 3yrs.

Canine Core Vaccines

Rabies given starting at 6wks, administered 3-4 weeks apart then once annually DAPP given 6-16wks,1yr then every 1-3yrs. Bordatella given every 6 months

RABIES

Rabies is a zoonotic disease transmitted to any warm blooded animal like cats, dogs, and evern humans by bite or scratch by an infected animal. The virus attacks the brain and is always 100% fatal! Most pets are exposed to rabies from wild animal bites. Skunks, raccoons, bats and foxes can carry the virus. Vaccination of all dogs/cats is the most effective way of controlling the virus.

Feline Pneumonitis

Respiratory infection with symptoms resembling Rhinotracheitis. Disease cause by the organism Chlamydia Psittaci and can by associated bacterical infections.

Sentinel (Pill)

Same as Spectrum, except only protects against heartworms and tapeworms. Pups can get HWP at 6 months of age without HWT

Canine Indoor Pampered Pooch

Strictly indoors never comes into contact with other dogs. Is a lap dog/couch potato and rarely touches bare earth. Required vaccines: RV, Distemper, DAPP, Adneovirus type 2, Parvo and Parainfluenza. Optional: Lepto, bordetella

Feline Indoor

Strictly indoors, no contact with other cats, sits in lap/couch potato, rarely touches bare earth Required vaccines: Rv (Rabies), FVRCP ( Feline Panaleukopenia, Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus.)

Feline Rhinotracheitis

Widespread respiratory disease caused by a herpesvirus infection in felines that is associated with upper respiratory and ocular infections. Most severe in small kittens and can cause profuse discharge from eyes and nose.

Canine Parainfluenza (K9 Flu)

Common cause of kennel cough; affects respiratory tract; causes coughing, gagging, wheezing, sneezes; easily transmissable through contact with secretions of infected dogs (sneeze and cough airborne particles common); very contagious, treat at home

Revolution (Topical)

For difficult pets, protects against heartworm, ticks, ear mites and mange. Pups can get HWP at 6 months of age without HWT

Feline Indoor Socialite

Multi cat household, mostly indoors/confined, frequent contact with other known cats like boarding and showing. Required vaccines: Rv, Feline Panaleukopenia, FVRCP, Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus. Optional:Feline Leukemia

Indoor Canine Vax recommendations

1 or 2 dog household, mostly indoors may come into contact with unknown dogs by occasional escape. Required vaccines: RV, Distemper, DAPP, Adneovirus type 2, Parvo, Parainfluenza and Bordetella. Optional: Lepto, RS

Canine Leptospirosis (Lepto)

A bacterial disease which typically causes liver or kidney inflammation, death usually b/c of liver damage. Carried by wild animals and a dog can contract this disease by drinking from contaminated water. Yearly vaccines limits a dogs chances of getting this disease.

Feline Panleukopenia

AKA "cat distemper" most widespread disease. It is a virus and is highly contagious.Causes severe vomitting, diarrhea, and dehydration. High death loss especially in kittens.

Canine Parvovirus (CPV)

CPV is a highly contagious disease found in all ages of dogs but is deadly to puppies. Symptoms include severe diarrhea and vomitting.

DAPP Vaccine (AKA 4in1, or 5L with Lepto)

D- Distemper (central nervous system) A- Adenovirus 1 & 2 (Hepatic liver) P- Parainfluenza (upper respiratory) P- Parvovirus (Gastro/heart)

Feline Immundoeficiency Virus (FIV)

FIV aka Feline AIDS, is a fatal viral infection. Interferes with a cats immune system. The virus lives in the blood of the cat. Infected cats are unable to resist other diseases and often die from associated infections.

Feline NON-Core Vaccines

Feline Leukemia given 1yr then annually if outside. FIV Booster annually if in a high rish enviroment (85% effective and will casuse a false positive on combo test).

Canine Distemper

Highly contagious disease and often fatal. The virus is found wherever dogs are found. Affects the respiratory and nervous system. The disease is often contracted at a early age 6-12wks so early vaccination is required.

Canine Location of Administration Bordetella (Puppy)

Intranasal.

Feline Leukemia (FeLv)

Is a form of cancer in cats and is usually fatal. Caused by a virus, leads to tumor growth almost everywhere in the body as well as other symptoms. Infected cats are unable to resist other disesases and can die from associated infections. Testing before vaccination is recommended.

Canine NON-Core Vaccines

Lepto given 6-16wks then annually if outside. Bordatella Intronasal given at 6wks annually if boarding/grooming/social with other dogs. Canine Influenza given 12,16wks then annually required for boarding/grooming.

Feline Calicivirus

Less fatal infection. Symptoms include fever, excess salivation, mouth and tongue ulcers.

Feline Outdoors Enthusiast

Mostly outdoors, free roaming, hunting, unsupervised. Required vaccines: Rv, Feline Panaleukopenia, FVRCP, Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Feline Luekemia.

Canine Adenovirus Type 1 and Type 2

Type 1 infection causes infectious hepatitis which can lead to severe renal/kidney damage. Type 2 can be a complicating factor in kennel cough. Vaccines are available that protect against both types.
