True- Speeches frequently exist on an informative-persuasive continuum, with some presentations clustering around the informative end and others tending toward the persuasive.

Inform Speeches

When you deliver speeches to inform, you seek to educate and enlighten your audience — not to influence their beliefs, feelings, or behavior. Four categories of informative speeches are description, demonstration, definition, and other informative types (reports, lectures, and personal experiences). The descriptive speech is related to a person, place, object, or event. The demonstration speech describes a process: how something works, how something is made, how something is done, or how something happens. A speech of definition identifies and explains a theory or subject area. Three other informational types are the report, which is used primarily in organizations and institutions; the lecture, which is presented by experts; and the personal experience
