- ships could sail down the Hudson to New Amsterdam to drop of their furs and to get supplies. Ships waited in harbor to carry furs to Europe.

- started attacking each others' farms and villages because settlers were taking up to much land for farms.

- the missionaried learned their languages - fur traders also learned their language and new ways of life.
