Desires what is best for the other

-Don't tell people what they want to hear to gain friendship or make their life easier

Patient and forgiving

-Forgive people who betray you -patient and wait for a chance for them to show they still love you

Not repulsed be illness or ugliness

-Jesus thinks everyone is the same no matter their physical appearance -make people know they are more then their label

Does not suffer needlessly but neither does it run from suffering when running would be a denial of love

-Walks away from harm when possible -stays and faces harm when that is the only way to be loving

Generous and does not calculate the cost of giving

-does not judge others for their actions -celebrates those who give without thinking there is an alternative motive

Takes time for him or her self as well as for others

-no one can give others without first taking time to nurture his or her own person and gifts

Not just an emotion but also a decision

-true love means to give and serve even when the service might go unnoticed -must choose to serve even if it doesnt brig us glory

Understands and accepts the emotions of others, rejoicing with those who rejoice and weeping with those who weep

-understands and shares how someone feels -Love means to share happiness and pain
