A 7,000-page top-secret United States government report on the history of the internal planning and policy-making process within the government itself concerning the Vietnam War.
Cuban missile Crisis
A confrontation between the United States and the Soviet Union in 1962 over the presence of missile sites in Cuba. Basically Kennedy set a blockade to force SU to make the first move, showed brinkmanship, created good diplomatic relations between Cuba and USA.
Tet offensive
A series of major attacks by communist forces in the Vietnam War. Early in 1968, Vietnamese communist troops seized and briefly held some major cities at the time of the lunar new year, or Tet.
Berlin Wall
A wall separating East and West Berlin built by East Germany in 1961 to keep citizens from escaping to the West
Watergate Scandal
An illegal break-in at the Democratic National Committee offices in 1972 by members of President Nixon's reelection campaign staff. Nixon covered it up and before Congress could vote to impeach Nixon for his participation in covering up the break-in, Nixon resigned from the presidency.
Peace Corps
Kennedy admin: jobs for young people who help third world nations and prevent the spread of communism by getting rid of poverty, Africa, Asia, and Latin America
Bay of Pigs
Kennedy admin: really bad, basically an unsuccessful invasion of Cuba in 1961, which was sponsored by the United States. Its purpose was to overthrow Cuban dictator Fidel Castro. It embarrassed USA and almost led to a catastrophic C. Missile Crisis
Great Society
President Johnson called his version of the Democratic reform program this. Involved measures such as Medicare, civil rights legislation, and federal aid to education.

a trail from north vietnam through laos into south vietnam, basically N vietnam brought supplies to the viet cong to take over S vietnam
