Characteristics of a credible source

stereotype

a widely held but fixed and oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or thing

primary source

an original "first hand" or "eye witness" account offerening an inside view

are ones the reader can trust. We trust that the author's ideas are his or her own and can be backed up with evidence
