What are the natural law concepts
This concept is based upon how we can change/control what we do. We cannot change/control the outcome. (you can decide to jump in front of a train, we cannot control if we die or not)
Stewardship Delegation
This focuses on *results* instead of methods. Meaning, people can chose the right method to get the results they want.

Spending time in *nature*, expanding spiritual self through *meditation*, *music, art, prayer*, or *service*.

Emotional bank account sections
1) *Understanding the Individual*. This means listening intently to what the other person is saying and empathizing with how they may feel. It's important to care for others and act with kindness toward them. 2) *Keeping Commitments*. How do you feel when someone arrives right on time when you have a meeting? How about when people simply do what they say they will do? You build up an emotional reserve by keeping your commitments. 3) *Clarifying Expectations*. We are not mind readers, and yet we consistently expect others to know what we expect of them. Communicating our expectations can help create a higher level of trust. When we ask for what we want, and we get it, we can then trust a little more. 4) *Attending to the Little Things*. Don't you find that the little things tend to become the BIG things when they do not receive our attention? Doing the little things is how we honor and show respect for others. Small kindnesses, a smile, a little extra effort, a hug, doing something you didn't "have" to: these are the things that build trust. 5)* Showing Personal Integrity*. Integrity is the moral floor upon which trusting relationships are built. When we operate with sound moral character, it makes it so easy for others to trust us. 6) *Apologizing When We Make a Withdrawal*. We will make mistakes; it's part of life. But when you see you have violated a trust, sincerely apologizing is how we make a deposit to counteract the damage we have done.

A knight meets a prostitute and gives her a new name—Dulcinea—a new name associated with a new paradigm. He makes continual deposits of unconditional love and gradually penetrates her scripting. She believes it and she acts from her new paradigm, to the initial dismay of everyone else in her life.
Effectiveness
Being able to use Independence, Interdependence, and then finally Dependence to enjoy success.

Covey says that before you effectively manage and work with others, you must first learn to *effectively manage yourself*. These are the *first three habits*.
"Train Story"
Covey was on a train and was getting annoyed by a family with loud kids who were out of control. Covey went to talk to the dad about the kids. The dad informed Covey that their mom just died. Coveys *Paradigm* was completely changed which also changed how he felt about the annoying kids.

Frankl was a psychiatrist and is well known for his theory of Logotherapy and publishing, "Mans Search for Meaning". He endured the Nazi concentration camps and realized that we can always choose our response no matter what happends.

Have a balanced program for self renewal in the four arease of your life: *physical*, *social/emotional*, *mental*, *spiritual*.
Habit seven - Goose and Golden Egg (production and Production capability)
In the fable, a poor farmer's goose began laying a solid gold egg every day, and the farmer soon became rich. He also became greedy and figured that the goose must have many golden eggs within her. In order to obtain all of the eggs immediately, he killed the goose. Upon cutting it open he discovered that it was not full of golden eggs. The lesson is that if one attempts to maximize immediate production with no regard to the production capability, the capability will be lost. Effectiveness is a function of both production and the capacity to produce.

Habit one - Story of Joseph
Sold into slavery by his brother which lead him to jail for 13 years. Since he was *proactive*, he focused on the inner circle (circle of influence) he eventually overcame obstacles and got through the problem. This lead to him overcoming the prison and ruling Egypt second to the Pharaoh
Habit seven - P/PC balance
To maintain the P/PC Balance, the balance between the golden egg (*production*) and the health and welfare of the goose (*production capability*) is often a difficult judgment call.
