Difference between hardware and software
What is the difference between hardware and software with examples?
-Hardware is a physical device -For example mouse, monitor and keyboard -Software is programs and code so it cannot be physically seen; only results of running the software can be seen -For example operating systems, applications software and utilities
What is hardware and software?
-Hardware is physical components that make up the computer system -Software is programs required to make the computer function
What are the negative impacts of having different systems that might be incompatible in the hardware and software? 4
-No communication/ miscommunication in systems means that incorrect data may lead to incorrect data being passed -New equipment may have to be purchased to bridge the gap -Cost of training staff on the systems -Lack of technical support on the systems
What is standardisation? (data exchange)
The process of enabling one piece of hardware to work with another and enabling data to transfer from one package to another
